Osage County is located in east central Kansas. It is named for the Osage River, which is known as the Marais des Cygnes River in Kansas.
The seat is Lyndon while the largest city is Osage City.
The county borders Shawnee, Douglas, Franklin, Coffey, Lyon and Wabaunsee Counties.
Main highways through the county include I-35, US-56 and US-75.
